he dropped his keys several time while fumbling with them to get the door open. he wasn't sure if it was from anger or confusion or what. dracula heard the commotion from inside and was now scratching at the bottom of the door. he had to be hungry, considering aidyn left him without food that morning. now all the thoughts flooded his head as he tried to decide which key actually went to his apartment door. he glanced quickly over his shoulder at the girl, wondering what she had to be thinking. if the situation had slightly unnerved him, she should have been twenty times worse. the boy didn't have nerves of steel, let alone ones strong enough to keep a straight face in most situations.

The last key he tried slid into the lock. he muttered under his breath and shoved the door open, hitting dracula in the process. every memory of seeing his mom distressed after his father yelled at her flooded his head and he tried to clear them by shutting his eyes. what was that about? he asked her as his eyes fluttered open. it was confusing, but he wanted to help. if she wanted it. if she needed it. he could be totally misinterpreting the subject. maybe she wanted to fend for herself. he wanted to help though. since he never spoke up for his mom, he thought he could makeup for it by helping her. this girl he had suddenly found himself adoring in less than a day.

no one has to know
that inside were broken.

She followed the boy, finding it rather hard to see through the dark sunglasses in the apartment building due to the lack of proper lighting. She swallowed hard, glancing around nervously as the boy opened the door. Nothing really seemed to be much different than how she had seen it before. At least, the window was still broken.

She could feel the strenghth slowly leaving her body as the felt the sticky crimson run down her arm and drip off her digits, leaving a trail to where she had been. She leaned up against the wall, closing here eyes and rubbing the blood between figers inside her sleeve. She was far too disoriented to think up any good bull shit. I was supposed to be home earlier. She said bluntly, shrugging and looking rather standoffish at the moment. She exhaled sharply soon after speaking.

Look, Im sorry. She said slowly, hesitantly, I didnt mean to drag you into this. She said, coughing a bit soon after speaking. She smiled half-heartedly at the boy, not really sure what she was supposed to do at this point. She looked away, blankly staring at the wall as she closed her eyes for a few moments, wishing that maybe there would be a way she could fix this. Go back in time and never get Aidyn involved in this part of her home life.

She was trying so hard to convince herself that she didnt deserve this. No, she wasnt /that/ late anyway. It had been what everyone was trying to convince her, everyone that ever knew about james, anyway, and she had started to believe it. Or, at least told herself that she believed it. She was getting rather sick of all this, feeling just as hopeless as ever.
